A family that I hold near and dear to my heart is the Q family. They have graced my blog several times since I started my business in 2007…and I will always be forever grateful to them for their adorableness that helped build my portfolio. They are close friends to Neil and me, and lil’ J (who is now 5!!!) and R (nearly 2.5!!!) were our ring bearer and flower girl, respectively.
For their family session, they wanted to do a bit of an urban shoot. Which is PERFECT for them as they are such a cool, hip (sometimes even PUNK) family. Their personalities are always oozing all over the place. I hope these photos do them justice.
I’ll start with one of my faves. (Although this doesn’t say much since I picked the blog-worthy pics according to my favorites. haha)….
The rug rats. And note the warning sign on the photo on the right. I hope they have their $2 cuz something tells me they aren’t 21 yet.
R started out the session being okay with smiling for the camera. Later, she would smile, say cheese, but NEVER EVER acknowledge the camera. So we took what we could get.
And she’s darling…no?
I asked them to just be themselves. And this, folks…is what I got.
Someone is a stubborn ham…. but someone is soooo cute.
And J, I should tell you, loves the Beatles (is even growing out his hair to look like Ringo, he says), my husband Neil (to whom the “look, ma, no hands” picture was dedicated), and attention. 😉
Mom and Dad Q have already seen this one. Because I couldn’t NOT share this with them as soon as I saw it. How beautiful. BE STILL, MY HEART!
Our pal, Ashley, had come along to help distract the kids so we could take some pictures of just the parents, too. There was something that Ashley had that succeeded in keeping R busy…unintentionally.
Meanwhile at the ranch…of love…the one on the right is my favorite. No wait, the one on the left. Ok, nevermind. I love them both.
The family changed their outfits… at the shoe store that Mike’s parents own… American Shoe. Head in there if you’re looking for super cool kicks!
I told them to do an impression of mom or dad. jk
I stole mom and dad away one more time. And I’m so glad I did.
And then, friends, it was time…to take off those shoes…and get wet!!
No children were harmed in the making of this picture.
J had toooo much fun…
And I’ll close with a special composite I made. We used the backlit walls of American shoe for individual silhouettes. And I was thankful that the kids listened when I asked them to sit there and be still. 🙂
Mike, Tisha…and J & R…. much love to you all…and I hope this gets you through to the next time you need the services of lil’ ol’ me. 🙂 xoxo!
