Golly…I teared up when I watched this slideshow through. I really grow attached–not just to the photos I take, but to the love stories that they tell. Wedding photographers are so lucky to take part in such momentous occasions.
I know, I know… it’s cliche to say it. But it’s the truth!
Emotions run high on wedding days… and to be a witness to it all, to be charged with documenting it, is an honor that is so easily taken for granted. And I get all nostalgic when going back through the weddings of 2010 and reliving the many moments that tickled my heart.
From the giggles while the bride is getting ready to the tears she sheds reading a card from the man she loves…from the high fives and sometimes inappropriate jokes the groom and his boys share to the priceless look on the groom’s face when he sees the love of his life approach him for the first time that day….from the nearly unseen squeezing of hands that happens between the still-married parents of the to-be-weds as they look on with adoration and pride to the heartfelt hugs that are doled out once two families are joined….from the inside jokes and sentimental memories that surface during speeches to the look of enchantment on all the faces of the young guests who stare dreamily as the couple shares their first dance…
I say all the time that although there is a definite formula for weddings–common ingredients that are in one celebration to the next–the product of the formula is always so different, and I can so easily be whisked away into the love stories of my brides and grooms. The challenges of capturing such an important day aside, what I’m left with is gratitude, a feeling of warmth and the desire to continue working with amazing people.
Thank you to all of my 2010 couples — you all have been nothing but the most supportive, most gracious, most adorable clients for whom I could EVER ask.
Enjoy just a tiny sampling of some of my favorite images from weddings of last year. And here’s to many more !!
