Ok, I’ve put my wedding planning on hold long enough to get a few handfuls of photos up from the most recent wedding. Erin and Jay booked me quite awhile ago. They were the first wedding I booked. But they ended up being nowhere near the first I shot. 🙂 Thank you for trusting me with your special day. It was so beautiful. And fun. Your friends sure know how to have a good time.
I worked with dearest Lara Adkins of Photography by Lara as my second shooter. She rocked the camera…and her sense of humor. Check out her post about this same wedding here.
And my sister was my lovely assistant. Thanks so much, Temple, for taking commands from your younger sister. You did wonderfully! 🙂
So on to the love story… We began the day at Salon de Marco in Gretna, Nebraska.
A well-fed bride is a happy bride. I just love pics of painting toes. Is that weird? The groom’s cousin was a genius with so many things that day. Painting toes was one of them.
I think the bow makes the dress in this case. 🙂And the shoes make the grass… 🙂
and the ankle… haha
Ain’t she darling?
THIS one is too cute. Seriously.
Jay, once again, was a good sport. 🙂
I can’t decide if the church or Erin is my favorite part… haha. No offense Erin.
When in doubt…laugh.
They had a very large wedding party. But they were BIG on fun. So that worked.
Flowers are by Mulhall’s nursery…Frank Piccolo. He’s MY florist for my upcoming wedding, too. SO EXCITED. After seeing Erin’s lush pink and orange bouquets…sigh. He’s amazing. AND such reasonable pricing, too.
Darling.
This is hardly edited. Seriously. I adjusted the color a bit as it was a bit too blue in the shade. She’s just THAT pretty.
And she is just THAT emotional. haha That’s Jay’s aunt.
Before the reception, the gang headed to a bar. The maid of honor wasn’t quite ready to give her speech. So with a few weapons of choice, she put pen to…napkin.
So on to the deliciousness. This is adorable. I got to try out the full capability of my new 50 1.2 lens.
Everyone was drawn to the sweetness. See?
Outside we went to fit in a few group pics.
I’m not going to tell you what happened to get the groom to crack up like that. Seriously. Let’s just say I did capture it. But I can’t post it.
But I can post this. Which followed shortly after… poor Jay. His tux was sooo dirty after this pelting.
Erin’s parents… so sweet.
Erin and her dad…
Sweet first dance…
CHEESE.
And yes. That’s me. With the king and queen! 🙂
Thanks again, Erin and Jay!!!
Photography by Lara - SO AWESOME! Darbs, they are so beautiful! Hot, even. 🙂 Erin and Jay were such a great couple, and their friends were hilarious too!
Anonymous - Hi Darby, love your photography style. Jaime Burdette send me a link to your site. Awesome stuff. I’m taking Jaime’s wedding pics tomorrow, and I’m shaking in my boots (or sandals). No where near as good as you and your friends. Known Jaime & family since she was a little girl. Anyway, thanks for sharing and again, love your photos.
