Although it wasn’t a tropical destination down south, the wedding in Mexico (Mo) two weekends ago brought its own bright colors, hot sun and spicy loveliness!! Andrea & Ryan, yet another pair of high school sweethearts!!!… were surrounded by some of the sweetest, most fun-loving people I’ve ever met in a bridal party. And check out Andrea’s impeccable taste (and forethought!!!) with her lovely “light-weight” dress and scrumptiously fresh floral arrangements by Wonneman’s Flowers
And look! She had Dakota Fanning from several years ago as her flower girl! haha
Ashley Irvin was my assist-ee-ahnt-ay for the day… this is her shot on the left. Mine on the right.
We headed to the high school where it all started… and the boys all were kind enough to point out that the bride holds a school record in POLE VAULTING!!!

Then on to the reception at the Elks Lodge. Andrea is quite the crafty individual. Check out all the personal touches!!! Thumbs up from THIS photographer!! And I’m sure the kid about to embark on his sugar high below would agree.
Those are honey sticks as the favors. I tried them…and they were stickily tasty! And then multiply that by 10 for the yumminess of the SMORES cupcakes!!! (Andrea & Ryan made those themselves!!!!)
An opening heart-felt prayer….
And then folks…the FUNNIEST story came out in the toast from the best man. I was laughing so hard myself that it was challenging to keep my camera up to my face. Let’s just say it combined embarrassing bodily functions, a futon, $2 in change and an innocent sleeping friend. Let your imaginations fill in the holes.

And how sweet… Andrea & Ryan thanked everyone for gathering, but most specifically, they thanked their parents for being such great role models. In fact, it was his parents’ anniversary…so they had a surprise cake for them!
And like the amazing clients they were…they asked that before we left, we take some more pics of them at sundown. I happily obliged, as did this lonely soybean field.
Let out those sighs…right….now……..SIGHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Andrea & Ryan…what can I say? Your wedding was chock full of elements that left your guests (and your photographer!!!) with a better understanding of you both as individuals and a couple. Thank you so much for having Ashley & me along for such a wonderful day!!! Hope your Cali honeymoon was fab!!!
