Katherine & Brian engagement session {Weston, Mo. @ Red Barn Farm}

In my line of work, I meet lots of cute couples. Lots of cute couples in LOVE. But Katherine & Brian just might take the cake… because I found myself squealing with delight (I know, I know, I exaggerate a lot, but seriously…I squealed. Like a pig) as their playful love came alive in front of my camera.

Playful was actually one of the words that Katherine used to describe the mood they were going for with their engagement photos when I asked WHERE they want them taken. She also used the words: romantic and rural.

She left the choice up to me with those words to go on…and I came up with the most PERFECT location that matched all three of those criteria… Weston’s Red Barn Farm.

I had met KAtherine earlier this summer over lunch. And she gave me her and Brian’s backstory. They met in college…and he chased her. She played hard to get…and ended up folding eventually under the weight of his persistence…charm…and dashing good looks.

When I met him a few weeks ago, right off the bat, I was smitten with how much they were smitten for each other. Brian is a Goofball. That’s right. With a capital G. Katherine and I would often look at one another and she’d say, “Do you just wonder what is going on in his head?”…to which I replied… “Uh…yes.”

For now, I’ll let their darlingness do the talking for a bit….but just know that this was THE hardest session to blog because I could have blogged all of the images.

When Brian was being silly, Katherine would just giggle. And during the shot on the right, Brian literally sighed out loud and said, “This just feels so right.” I couldn’t agree more.

They are both high school teachers….and direct theatrical productions (having been theater majors).Expressing emotion in front of the camera wasn’t a challenge for them.

So I decided to have some fun with them. I threw out emotions and they did their best to convey them with just their faces. I think Katherine won. 😉
