Brittany & Tyler are every reason I love engagement sessions. They are so chill, creative and downright adorable together. I mean it. They truly are a dreamy couple, both charismatic when they are apart, but when they are near one another, and especially when they are touching, they absolutely glow.
I smiled and giggled so much when shooting them because Brittany’s beauty is undeniable…and because Tyler (who every time I whispered how beautiful Brittany was, pretended I was talking about him and said, “Thank you.”) is one of the funniest guys I’ve ever shot. His quick wit and goofiness made it very clear why Brittany is so smitten with him.
Plus he has a sensitive, artistic side… he is the front man in a band (he writes the songs, plays guitars and sings lead) called NEW INHABITANTS on the side and he is a nurse by day. Brittany wasn’t just blessed with great looks though… she has BRAINS, too… the kind of brains that totally understand science (so basically, her brain and my brain do not match). She’s a biology major and works for a clinical research company here in Kansas City. But her secret weapon is all about the concoctions she creates in the kitchen–she’s a baker and I hear she can make killer treats…hmmmm…
So anyway… let’s get on with showing you this delightful twosome….we started around Union Station and later headed up to Liberty Memorial.
When you look at this one, just think….she’s smart, too. Jealous? 😉
Then we changed it up a bit… They had brought along a big red balloon…and though this is something you often see in engagement sessions around the country, I myself have never shot an e-sesh with it… And what an amazing day and an amazing couple to try it out with!!!
This is how you show pure childlike joy on the left… and pure flirty fun on the right!
What can be better than yummy light enveloping a yummy couple???
Where was the balloon during all these last ones? I started out with it tied to me, but then that was just cumbersome…and then I remembered my pal Mike Tsai was there to take some footage for a promo video for me… and he volunteered to hang on to it. What a nice guy!!!
These last two….they made my heart do a variety of cheerleading moves (and I’ve never been a cheerleader) over and over and over when I saw them!!!
So yeah…needless to say, I am bursting to see them on their wedding day. If they can be this rockin’ and this fun and this scrumptious for their engagement session, then imagine what is in store in July!! WOOT.
