I alwyas get asked what my favorite thing to shoot is. I seriously change my mind all the time. After I finish with a wedding, I’m like…weddings are my favorite. After I shoot an engagement session…that becomes my favorite. And of course, after I shoot babies, I am so overwhelmed with appreciation for new life that I move newborn sessions to the No. 1 spot. And how can you not when you meet lil’ ones like Brigham Douglas?
(Remember his family before he was born??)
All 7 lbs 3 oz. of him were born May 2 at 2:22 a.m. He was 20 inches long. (fuzzy diaper cover courtesy of Palm Tree Princess on Etsy.com)
and he smiled more than any baby I’ve ever worked with. Maybe I’m just becoming more charming.
He was just so super suave. And he knew it.
But he was also very wary of what we were asking him to do for us.
SIGH.
And who can forget this lil’ face!!! Ornery as ever, Landon was still oh-so darling!
He hid from me. And my camera. But I…and my camera….found him.
To get Landon to behave, we gave him the two things that all men need. Food. And the remote.
He flat out refused to go to sleep for this shot. He said, “No, I want to keep an eye on you, Darbi. I know you tend to put babies into weird places. I’ll deal with these blocks on my back, but keep the teacups away from me.”
But ha! he fell asleep. And I stuck him in a small suitcase. and then he woke up. I was caught red-handed.
This was unplanned…but makes me laugh. Oh, Landon. You lil’ stinker.
And now, the S family is complete. For now… 😉
Enjoy him while he’s little, Molly, Naaman and Landon. 🙂 Have a great first summer. xoxo
