Enjoli (beautiful French name, eh? I love it!) works for her alma mater, Stephens College, here in Columbia, Missouri. She enjoys her job, but her heart is telling her to return to the stage. To do that, she needed some images to sell herself. That’s where I come in.
I met Enjoli and her pal, Theresa, by the Old auditorium of Stephens College. Enjoli thought the building, stairs and withered white doors would provide a good backdrop.
She was right. Here is a smattering of some of my faves. And warning… if you get jealous when you see GREAT smiles, proceed with caution.
You just know by looking at her that she is fun.
Similar poses, but I couldn’t decided which treatment I liked better. Thoughts?
This isn’t one that she’ll want to use for her headshot portfolio, but doesn’t she look bada$$? Maybe it’s facebook material??? 🙂
My pal, Jason Huang of Table 4 Photography in Dallas, has been coaching me via google talk about being confident with trying off-camera lighting a bit more in portrait work. Headshots aren’t the best arena to add high-fashion drama to, but sometimes, it’s fun regardless…
Another…I tried to get her to be more vogue-ish…but she just couldn’t help smile!
When her friend Theresa agreed to come along, I don’t think she knew she was in for assisting us… or being in front of the camera… or being cold and having to borrow one of Enjoli’s many shirts. But she was a fabulous sport!
One of my faves from the day…
This image is the same shot from the one in the above duo (on the right)… but this will show you the difference that treatment makes, especially when combined with a different crop.
H-O-T!
Another favorite-icious shot. She looks like she’s already famous. And knows it.
This is the point at which Enjoli looked at me with hope in her eyes and begged me to do a jump shot with Theresa and her. I was like: “no begging needed!” This was the first of eight shots we tried. I knew right off it’d be the one we’d use… but thought it’d be fun to keep them jumping. Plus they were getting cold!
Look…an angel is in the leaves!!
I love this image, from a pure photography standpoint. The motion is clear. And full focus isn’t needed to show that she is having fun…
Enjoli, don’t be mad, but Theresa is a darling, too!!
Ok, yet another fave. I can’t help it…she’s just so freaking cute!
And I know I’ve had what… four faves thus far? Well, here’s my fifth…but I guess it’s really my first because it’s the image that everytime I look at it, I’m A: proud to have taken it… and B: wishing I looked like that. Can you say Halle Berry? 🙂
So there you have it, Enjo! 🙂 You two were so much fun to work with… and I can’t wait to finish up the rest of your gallery. May these images help open the door to the success on stage that you deserve.
