Last May, Jenny & Joe came to me here in Kansas City for their engagement session. But for their wedding, I went to them. Lucky for me, it was in Omaha, my dear hometown. My lovely assistant was yet again Ms. Amber Cutler.
The church where they got married was special to me, because my own parents walked down the same aisles when they pledged their lives to one another. It is the beautiful St. Cecilia’s CAthedral. Absolutely amazing.
From the get go, it was clear that Jenny surrounds herself by the greatest friends a girl could ask for. I’ve never seen such a helpful crew. They helped her into her dress. They kept her standing. They fanned her. They wiped away her tears. They laughed with her. And they even went out of their way to take preventative measures with baby powder. 😉
Stunning bride and groom alert!!!
The reception was at Western Durham, so before the party began, we played on the train tracks.
The bridal party was a riot. They were all for whatever idea we had. But the guys kept trying freak out the girls (us photographers included) and kept telling us a train was coming.
And because of all the previous crying wolf about a train coming, we didn’t at first believe the warning when it was for real…and we got of this shot.
And then we ran. But notice how happy they look while trying to NOT get run over by the train!! (How fitting since Jenny works for Union Pacific, no? 🙂 )
And then we were calm again. 🙂
The reception hall was so beautiful. SOOOO beautiful!
The entire day, Jenny & Joe and their crew were so gracious and sweet and made us feel right at home. And Amber and I nearly teared up when for the first time ever, the bride and groom thanked us by name for making their day special. J&J…I can’t tell you how much that means. 🙂
I toyed with a tilt-shift lens during their first dance… 🙂
Do you notice the difference in enthusiasm between the guys and the girls?
The funniest part? Look who ended up running up to catch it.
And then madness ensued. 😉 The DJ knew just what it took to get the dance floor going!!
Jenny & Joe, THANK YOU for making my job so special. Your wedding was top notch–fun, beautiful and full of love. xo
