Baby Eleanor: Tiny and precious

Baby Eleanor’s mom contacted me a few months ago to do maternity photos, but unfortunately, I had no openings left. So I am incredibly glad that we were able to fit in newborn pics of her and her husband Brian’s first born.

Check her out. Weighing in at an imposing 5.15 oz….Baby Eleanor.

And the fun of newborn shoots is accentuating their tiny-ness. You have to act quickly…and in between bouts of crying…when they conk out. They’ll pretty much sleep anywhere….
One of my faves!

When she fussed a lot, it was time for Mom to soothe her back to sleep. But she didn’t forget the camera.
And here she is looking at her Daddy. Precious!!!
A similar look of fascination for her the woman who protected her for so long.
Hi there, Eleanor!!!

And…I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the way they are decorating her room. Can you guess why?
Yep! those were my wedding colors. And someday when I’m ready for kids…I’m totally going to decorate our baby’s room with that, too. Whether it’s a boy or a girl. haha Ok, Neil might not let me go with it if it’s a boy. Sigh.
Okay, back to THIS lucky girl…
An MU fan in the making…
Her daddy is in law school right now. And from the looks of it, those thick, dense book are none too exciting.
Doesn’t this just make you want to curl up, too?

Ahh, another important family member…Marley. After she stopped licking my face, she settled down and played center stage. The way it USED to be…haha
What a beautiful family….

A little texture for a smooth-skinned wee one….
Kristin and Brian, you have a beautiful daughter and I’m so glad that you invited me into your home… You are already great parents…Thank you!!! 🙂

  • kristin - Darbi, these pictures are amazing! I cannot stop looking at them, and Brian and I couldn’t be happier! It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I do especially love the first one where she is so bright-eyed and alert. I’m also so happy that you could capture the brightness of the colors in her room. I can’t wait to see more!ReplyCancel

  • erika d. - Darbi, these are awesome. I love the one on the table with the pears and the one on the bookshelf with dad’s books. AMAZING!ReplyCancel

  • Monkey - OMG these are amazing!! Is she really that much smaller than those decorative pears on the table, that is just crazy. I love how she looks on the chair…and esp. the bookcase!! I’m also in love with her nursery, that looks about the same color as our craft/art studio room…love that color with white, pink or red accents. You are so lucky to have these shots!! I’m green with envy. 🙂ReplyCancel

  • scoooooooottty - doood, that first one is awesome. i want that kid. well, just for like maybe a dayReplyCancel

  • Clary Pfeiffer - Eleanor really is tiny and precious! My favorite is the first bw with those big eyes.ReplyCancel

  • Lil Human Bean - You are a talented photographer! I love your eye for texture and perspective. I'm in love with the room colours as well! I'm approaching 4 months into my pregnancy and am about to start painting the baby room. Might just go and use that same color scheme!
