One of my good friends went to college with Jenny. I actually heard of Jenny first because when I was describing to our mutual friend what Weston’s baby room would look like, she sent me a link to pics of her friend’s (Jenny’s) personal blog to see her son’s room. I did and loved the darling room she and her husband had created for their son, Carter. But something else stood out to me… I had pinned (on Pinterest) 48 weeks ago an abacus that I found on CB2.com thinking how much I’d love that to be decor for our kid’s room. I had joked with Neil that I’d rather make one because I wanted the colors to be custom…I was even toying with painting over the beads and frame. But on Jenny’s blog was step-by-step directions on how she and Derek made an abacus for Carter’s room!!! It was fate! So I owe the anchor decor in Weston’s room first to Jenny (and then to my dad and brother for actually building it. hahaha)
So aside from this family being super crafty and innovative, they also are photogenic. I was immediately warmed when Carter held out his arms upon meeting him. I grabbed that lil’ guy and basked in his attention. His love for his Blue Bear and a wagon, and the way his nose wrinkles when smiling gleefully were highlights for the session.
Here are some of my favorites from the session!!! Enjoy the bright colors and the very visible playfulness of one little boy.
Jenny - I love seeing which ones were your favorite! Maybe because it is so difficult for me to pick favorites because I love them all! You did such a fantastic job capturing his personality…and all of his favorite things. Thank you thank you!
