Sorry for the lame title. Rhyming sometimes is fun, so when it happens, I just go with it. Moving on…
Last summer, I took the 3-month pics of Zoe, the lil’ one of my dear friends Adrienne & Chris. and can you believe, the time has come…that we needed to take her one-year photos!!??
We headed to a park in Lee’s Summit…and it ended up being beautiful out…just enough clouds in the sky to create a big hunk of softbox-love. It was a pretty special session…read on to find out why!!!
Zoe is a cautious child. She has to feel people out first before she rewards you with a smile. Let me just tell you…her smile is worth the wait. Check it.
FAVE! (Even though it’s Adrienne who looks more fascinated than Zoe…)
Ok, here is the special-ness info… it was while Adrienne went to get something from the car … during this next picture that Zoe said her first word (other than mama or dada!). SHE SAID….. DOGGIE!!! I didn’t move fast enough to catch the dog that inspired her sudden burst… but I’m happy enough with this.
And then mama returned…an equally as joyful moment.
Despite all the fun we were having…Zoe started getting cranky when we tried for a traditional family photo. So dad, the brainiac… decided to run away from mom with her..and then run back. Adrienne would be there waiting with her smile ready…looking at me. haha It worked!!! And you can’t even tell that Chris is out of breath. jk
I might get a huge canvas of this if I were the parent… 😉
For these next few, we gave Zoe a break…and got some images of A&C since they hadn’t had any taken since their wedding a few years ago. I love them! I’d like to think they see how adorable they are together.
And then Zoe was back in the game. And excited about it.
And then we tried out the beloved red chair from Cailin’s session…
And we’ll close with some more action shots that took place in the name of trying to Zoe to end the shoot with smiles…and it worked!!
Adrienne & Chris & Zoe-bear….. I heart you all! And I had so much fun with you. I can’t believe it’s been nearly a year since I met Zoe. But yay for my living in Kansas City now…I can’t wait to watch Zoe grow up. xooxox
Temple & Nick - AH! I love them! Especially that tree one…and the one of Zoe with no shirt, in color. cracked me up. I wish we lived closer so Zoe and Cailin could play more! Great job Darbi! They are fabulous!
Mom Gibson - Adrienne and Chris – what a beautiful little girl you have! I do think she favors Chris but has a little of you in her Adrienne. Beautiful pictures! Love them all, but yes, my favorite is the B & W under the tree. Darbi, you did a great job! You are so lucky to have the fun of shooting beautiful babies such as Zoe.
Adrienne Coppock - Darbi! I'm crying! Thank you so much! I started making a list of my favorites to tell you…but the list got too long! I love them all. Thank you for capturing the smiles…we all know Zoe wasn't in the best mood.
I agree, Mom Gibson ; ), Zoe looks so much like Chris. My mom just said the other day, "What part of Zoe is you, Adrienne? All I see is Chris!" ; )
Thanks again, Darb! You definitely have found your talent!
Anonymous - I LOVE the trees in the pics. I hope that when I begin my family, I will be able to either get to you or you to me to capture the moments! Michelle
